Before the start of the semester is a good time to try a new tool that might be useful in your teaching. We will be having a day devoted to technology in teaching innovations. There will be demonstrations of several tools, some newly available. In addition, there will be a keynote speaker from Apple.
There will be a light breakfast available at 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served. The sessions are:
9:00 - 9:45 a.m., Digital Measures
DM allows faculty to create CVs and other reports on their teaching, research, and service.
9:45 – 10:45 a.m., Blackboard Updates
The university's course management software has been enhanced. New features will be explained as well as plans for future improvements.
11:00 – 11:45 a.m., WebEx
This meeting software will be demonstrated; it soon will be available to both faculty and students.
11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch and Apple Keynote Speaker
Ian Camera from Apple will discuss strategies for teaching with the iPad.
1:45 – 2:30 p.m., Technology Showcase
eStudio staff will display the new technologies they have been exploring, many of which are now available to faculty.
