NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE:       

Since December 26, 1894, Immanuel Lutheran Church has been a place of learning, healing, teaching and guiding the community-at-large by proclaiming the unchanging Gospel of Jesus Christ in an ever-changing world. Today, they are a mosaic congregation, having various ministry opportunities offered to the community.  They are a local congregation connected with the global communion of believers, and affiliated with Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

USD volunteers will assist with painting, landscaping and maintenance as part of the Fall cleanup to help support the work of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Please speak with service site contact Michael Jakob to clarify the project to be assigned.

TIME:

USD volunteers are invited to join us for the USD Opening Ceremonies at 9:00am on the SJU Queens Campus Great Lawn. Immediately following Opening Ceremonies (approximately 9:30am), registered USD volunteers should meet the vans leaving for Immanuel Lutheran Church by St. Thomas More Church. The service project should conclude at approximately 3:00pm - volunteers should expect to return to campus by 3:30pm.
