USD 2017: Flushing Hospital Medical Center - Pediatrics (Flushing, Queens)

NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE:       

Using skill, compassion and advanced technology, Flushing Hospital Medical Center Department of Pediatrics provides care for acute and chronic illnesses to infants, children and young adults. Offering a comprehensive range of services, it is fully staffed by pediatricians specializing in primary care, adolescent medicine and a broad range of pediatric subspecialties.

USD volunteers read and/or do crafts with the patients on the Pediatric Unit.

 

LOCATION (Metrocards will be provided to all registered USD volunteers):

4500 Parsons Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11355

 

TIME:

SJU volunteers are invited to join us for the USD Opening Ceremonies at 9:00am on the SJU Queens Campus Great Lawn. Volunteers should plan to leave immediately following Opening Ceremonies (approximately 9:30am) to arrive at the service site NO LATER THAN 10:00am (public transportation usually takes about 30 minutes). The service project will be completed by 2:00pm - volunteers can plan to return to campus by 2:30pm.

 

TRANSPORTATION:

MetroCards will be provided to all volunteers to use for public transportation to the site.  Metrocards will be distributed at the designated t-shirt distributions on the Queens Campus.
