USD 2017: Catholic Charities: Siena Residence (Bay Shore, Suffolk)

NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE: 

Since 1974, Catholic Charities has operated community residences to help individuals achieve their highest level of functioning and to participate as fully as possible in the surrounding community.  As they are able, residents participate by doing their share of the household chores, such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.

USD volunteers with Catholic Charities – Siena Residence can assist with a variety of projects for the residents, including Fall decorating and/or arts and crafts. A light lunch is included. Please note: Catholic Charities requires a completed volunteer form to be submitted to your team leader no later than Wednesday, September 6th.  **Your team leader will send the form as an email attachment.

 

LOCATION (Transportation will be provided to/from the Queens campus):

12 Mechanicville Road, Bay Shore, NY 11706

 

TIME:

USD volunteers are invited to join us for the USD Opening Ceremonies at 9:00am on the SJU Queens Campus Great Lawn. USD volunteers should plan to meet at St. Thomas More Church on the SJU Queens campus no later than 10:00am, to arrive at Siena Residence by 11:00am.The service project will conclude at approximately 2:00pm - volunteers can expect to return to campus by 3:00pm. All materials will be provided.
