NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE:
Midnight Run is a volunteer organization dedicated to finding common ground between the housed and the homeless. Throughout the year, SJU students, faculty, staff and administrators volunteer with this organization to distribute food, clothing, blankets and personal care items to the homeless poor on the streets of New York City. The late-night relief efforts create a forum for trust, sharing, understanding and affection. That human exchange, rather than the exchange of goods, is the essence of the Midnight Run mission.
USD volunteers will clean and organize the closet used for storing Midnight Run supplies so that distributions run smoothly and efficiently.
Enjoy the FestivitiesParticipants are asked to bring their own basketball to Dribble for the Cure through a course winding across the St. John's campus, ending inside Carnesecca Plaza. Pre-event festivities will include entertainment by the St. John's band and cheerleaders, activities and games, refreshments and autographs by the players. - See more at: http://www.pcrf-kids.org/faf/help/helpEventInfo.asp?ievent=1131537&lis=1&kntae1131537=FF3D1004959D4C90B34497B8A87AC5AE#sthash.ZJFaKuyd.dpuf
