Despite the social progress we have made in the field of scholarly research, the institutions we serve still fall short when it comes to the acknowledgment and equitable dissemination of scholarly research by marginalized groups. This concept is better known as epistemic exclusion or the process by which the work of marginalized scholars is systematically devalued in academia. This workshop will broadly focus on the topics of epistemic exclusion and oppression and the role academics have in mitigating harm caused by epistemic exclusion through advocacy and education.
