NATURE AND PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE:

As part of the University's efforts to create and promote a more sustainable campus, the Sustainability Garden (located on the Queens Campus next to the Softball field) offers a beautiful and organic way for students and employees to get involved. Volunteers help the Sustainability Team plant, maintain and harvest the organic garden beds throughout the year. The vegetables grown are delivered to St. John's Bread and Life in Brooklyn once they are harvested - click here to see photos!

Please note: Gardening will take place rain or shine, unless there are thunderstorms (ponchos will be provided, if necessary). Please plan to wear outdoor clothing and shoes that will likely get dirty. 

SERVICE HOURS NEEDED:
12:30pm - 3:00pm

Volunteers should meet at the Office of Mission and Ministry (Sullivan Hall, 1^st floor) no later than 12:30pm. Volunteers will walk together to the Garden - additional details will follow for all those who register.
