NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE: 

For the 25th anniversary of 9/11, millions of Americans will join together in a powerful expression of unity — putting aside differences to do good. The mission of 9/11 Day is to transform the anniversary of September 11th from a tragic day into a permanent, federally recognized day of doing good, inspiring unity, and honoring the victims and heroes through charitable service

St. John's volunteers will help with set up and breakdown of the main service event taking place right on Citi Field. Volunteers will also help with the flow of refilling supplies, boxing up meals, and being a welcoming face to all who attend! To help ensure a safe, smooth, and successful event, the 9/11 Day team will assign volunteer roles based on event needs, physical abilities, and where support is needed most.

Schedule for the day (Friday, September 11, 2026)

8:00 AM  Van departure from Sullivan Hall (SJU Queens Campus)

8:30 AM  Arrival at Citi Field (Flushing, NY)

1:30 PM  Return to Sullivan Hall (lunch provided upon return to campus)
