Presenter: Lawrence Pitilli, College of Professional Studies

In Doo-Wop Acappella: A Story of Street Corners, Echoes, and Three-Part Harmonies, scholar and musician Lawrence Pitilli details this too-little-explored area of 1950s' - early 60s' American culture.  At this event, he will discuss how the book was conceived and the challenges inherent in the research.  Members of the doo-wop groups the Eternals and Casinos will sing acappella, thus exemplifying this musical genre.
