Presenter: Paula K. Lazrus, St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Institute for Core Studies and Environmental Science

A new and creative approach to introducing STEM fields to introductory classes for both science and non-science majors has been developed and piloted by several professors at DePauw University.  In this session we will explore the ways they have used team teaching to create modules that expose students to different STEM disciplines.  Preparation by the multiple instructors teaching a class is key to developing assignments and assessments across disciplines and to align the way the class is taught. The experiences of developing and teaching these classes were shared at the AACU STEM meeting this past fall and here I will share some of their ideas and encourage us to discuss how we might imagine an analogous program here at St. John's.
