USD 2018: Friends of the Poor Walk on 9/29/18 (Bethpage, NY)

NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE: 

The Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run began as a national program with the purpose of providing local Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Conferences and Councils the additional funds to help support their special works projects. Today, that philosophy continues, with Conferences and Councils using the funds from this event to help local people living in poverty.

USD volunteers will support the Walk/Run by volunteering at water stations, cheering on participants, assisting with regsitration and supporting the overall event.

LOCATION (round-trip transportation provided from the Queens Campus):

Bethpage Community Park
1001 Stewart Avenue
Bethpage, NY 11714

TIME:

Volunteers will meet at St. Thomas More Church on the Queens Campus at 6:15am, and will return to campus by 1pm. Transportation will be provided to/from Bethpage Community Park. Volunteers should plan to bring their own lunch.
