NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE:
The Student community garden is an organic vegetable garden built and maintained by student workers and the Student Earth Club. The garden consists of over fifty semi-raised planting beds with organic soils, automatic irrigation and central drainage system. Students harvest and deliver the vegetables to help support St. John’s Bread & Life soup kitchen in Brooklyn. Over 1,000 pounds of vegetables are harvested annually.

Participants are asked to bring their own basketball to Dribble for the Cure through a course winding across the St. John's campus, ending inside Carnesecca Plaza. TIME:
USD volunteers are asked to join us for the USD Opening Ceremonies at 9:30am on the Queens Campus Great Lawn. Volunteers will walk across campus immediately following the Opening Ceremony to begin the service project at the Community Garden (located behind Donovan Hall). The service project will conclude at approximately 12:00pm.
