NATURE & PURPOSE OF SERVICE SITE: 

Community Board 5, Queens works to improve the Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale communities, which are part of Community District 5, Queens. Within our borders, we also have a small portion of Woodside and Rego Park. There are currently 43 members of our Board. The members of the Board are all volunteers. There is a small paid staff consisting of a District Manager, two Community Associates, and a Community Assistant.

Community Board 5, Queens conducts public hearings related to the city budget, zoning issues, capital projects, and other important matters.

USD volunteers will assist with painting over graffiti, and helping to clean the local streets.

LOCATION (Roundtrip transportation will NOT be provided to/from the Queens campus):

Food Bazaar Supermarket: 1590 Gates Avenue, Ridgewood, NY 11385 (Gates Avenue between St. Nicholas Avenue and Wyckoff Avenue)

USD volunteers should meet at Community Board 5 headquarters at 10:30am. If leaving from the St. John's Queens campus, please join us for Opening Ceremonies at leave campus by 9:30am.
