Topic: Design for Everybody: How Inclusive Design Supports Both Fair Access and Breakthrough Innovation

Industrial Design has traditionally prioritized functional or marketing objectives while neglecting users’ well-being and other cognitive, social, emotional, and ethical concerns.

However, best design and innovation often originate from unexpected places and applications. This talk shows that designing for marginal users and communities can lead to breakthrough innovations while contributing to sustainable consumption and to a more inclusive society.
